PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Game Clinics
Mancala
an hour of strategic counting. Girls will learn a little background about the game of Mancala and then spend most of the hour playing or learning how to play following general rules or a few other ways.

Kuba
A strategy game with marbles from the 90’s.
Building Fun
Brain Flakes
Construct and create with brain flakes. Use various direction cards or your own creative imagination.

Hashtag Blocks
Construct and create with blocks. Use various direction cards or your own creative imagination.

Lummi Sticks
Rhythm Stick Fun
Decorate your own pair! We’ll learn some rhythm patterns/songs/chants from New Zealand, Africa, and even create our own with familiar songs.
AGE LEVELS: ALL (program will be offered for specific levels per scheduling)
Ladybug
Ladybugs!
Girls will learn some facts about ladybugs through picture cards and discussion. They’ll listen to a story and learn an important message. They’ll create a simple craft, play a couple ladybug themed games and conclude with a circle game.
Princess Happy Camper
Girls will listen to a story. They will learn a few rules about outdoor etiquette including some Leave No Trace Principles, and trail safety. Girls will also learn differences between natural and man made materials while creating fairy characters and fairy houses with natural and man made materials.
CARDS AND HOUSES ARE RETURNED TO NATURE AND MAN MADE MATERIALS ARE COLLECTED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE PROGRAM.
Monarch
Monarchs!
Girls will learn some facts about monarch butterflies, create a monarch butterfly symmetry craft, and listen to a story about bravery, power of friendship and overcoming obstacles. There will also be a short hike and a team building exercise in a puzzle building activity.
I am Me, You are You, We are We
Girls will listen to a story about prejudice and learn about differences, equality, and friendship through discussion and activities. They will take a hike AND/OR participate in large/small team building games. A simple bracelet will be made too.
Bee
Bees!
Girls will learn about bees and the hierarchy of a bee hive. They will examine what hierarchy means in their own lives and create a mirror craft. They will also learn about safety around bees. There will also be a team building game.
Girls receive a T-shirt in this program.

🚐 programs can travel
under the following criteria:
Must be within a 30-mile radius of eastside of Cleveland
Location must be conducive to the specific needs of the program that is being offered/presented. This means program space must be large enough to accommodate participants and volunteers. Appropriate furniture must be readily available. Typically, chairs, long tables (8X10), floor space for gathering, outdoor space for large movement activities (or a gym space). Locations CANNOT be in a private residence. Typical spaces would be in churches, schools, libraries, or other community spaces.
GLIA provides program facilitator(s), equipment, materials for the specific program being offered/presented. The participating group provides enough volunteers to assist with the program.
Fee is based on specific program needs and number of participants. There is a modest fee for the game and building clinics.
